Huntersville · About this publication

Editorial standards.

How Huntersville Living researches, labels and updates what it publishes.

The perspective

Huntersville Living is an independent publication. It is not the Town of Huntersville, Birkdale Village, any business it covers, or any school system.

01

What we publish

Place profiles and events are based on official sources—the operator, the Town, Mecklenburg County, or the organizer. Each record shows its source and the date it was checked. Records we could not verify are labeled as research leads.

02

What we never invent

Reviews, ratings, awards, hours, menus, prices, events, accessibility features, public access, school assignments, market data or travel times.

03

Events

Events with confirmed dates are listed until they end and then removed from upcoming feeds. Annual traditions without confirmed dates are shown separately and labeled.

04

AI and ownership

Some journal articles are drafted with AI assistance and disclosed as such. This publication shares ownership with the Peters businesses featured in its home, building and design sections.

06

Sources we rely on

Our first choice is always the operator or organizer: the business itself, the Town of Huntersville, Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation, the Carolina Raptor Center, Rural Hill or the Hugh Torance House and Store. Regional tourism organizations such as Visit Lake Norman are used to corroborate, not to replace, the operator. We name sources on each page without sending readers away from the site.

07

Updates and timestamps

A place’s check date changes only when we actually re-confirm it against its source. We do not refresh dates to make pages look newer. When a business closes or a site changes its access, we update or remove the profile and any itinerary that used it.

08

How places are verified

We confirm a place’s name, location, operator and the specific features we mention against an official source—usually the operator, the Town of Huntersville or Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation. Each profile shows that source and the date it was checked. Places we could not verify are labeled as research leads and kept out of planner suggestions.

09

Geography and labeling

We label places by the town they actually sit in. A Lake Norman park in Cornelius is listed as nearby, not as a Huntersville destination. Mailing addresses and ZIP codes are not treated as town boundaries.

Sponsored and affiliated content

Sponsored features and hosted visits, if accepted, are labeled clearly. Place listings are not paid. Businesses that share ownership with this publication are disclosed wherever they appear.
